The Bible predicts a flood of false teachers will pass on wrong information that will confuse the church until the gospel becomes twisted and almost forgotten.

1 Tim. 4:1-2 [GW] The Spirit says clearly that in later times some believers will desert the Christian faith. They will follow spirits that deceive, and they will believe the teachings of demons. [2] These people will speak lies disguised as truth. Their consciences have been scarred as if branded by a red-hot iron.

2 Peter 2:1-3 NKJV But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. [2] And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. [3] By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber.

Luke 18:8 (GW) “I can guarantee that he will give them justice quickly. But when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”

Matthew 7:21-23 (NKJV) 21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!
