The Oscars Show How Much Hollywood Hates God by Paul Hair

Hollywood reveled in political buffoonery at the Oscars this year. But it also continued revealing its hatred for God by awarding movies that promoted deviancy.

Others have written plenty about how the Oscar telecast was nothing more than hours of elitist entertainers ranting about politics. But pundits focused slightly less attention on how Hollywood gave its highest honors to films that provided propaganda for all sorts of evil.

On March 4, The Hollywood Reporter published the list of winners for the 90th Academy Awards. The biggest winner was the movie The Shape of Water, which won best picture, best director, and other awards. Other winners included Call Me by Your Name (best adapted screenplay) and A Fantastic Woman (best foreign-language film).

So what are these three films about?

Elisa Esposito (Sally Hawkins), a mute maid who works for some wing of the Military-Industrial Complex, lives alone above a movie theater. She looks after her neighbor, Giles (Richard Jenkins), a gay, out-of-work ad man, and listens patiently to her chatty African-American coworker, Zelda (Octavia Spencer). Their lives are thrown into turmoil when Richard Strickland (Michael Shannon) shows up with an amphibious lagoon monster (Doug Jones) he and scientist Robert Hoffstetler (Michael Stuhlbarg) hope could serve as the key to defeating the Soviets in the space race.
