Our constitutional rights are under attack, ‘there’s going to be nothing left’

Do Americans honor the Constitution? For that matter, do most of us even know what it is, what it means, or why it was written in the first place? The United States Constitution, our country’s supreme law since 1789, begins with the three words “We the People.” This is a clear indication that our government was created to serve the citizens and not the other way around. For over two centuries, the Constitution has protected the interests of the American people, safeguarding our rights and liberties through the establishment of a separate and balanced government. The Constitution was originally comprised of seven articles. The first three establish the doctrine of separation of powers by dividing the federal government into three branches: the legislative, the executive, and the judicial. The first ten amendments, which became a part of the Constitution in 1791, and are known as the Bill of Rights.
