Study: Government becoming our god by Steve Jordahl (OneNewsNow.com)

A study out of two universities reports that the more people rely on government the less religious they tend to be.

The study “Religion as an Exchange System: The Interchangeability of God and Government in a Provider Role” was conducted by the University of Rochester and the University of Utah.

It  summarizes that “if a secular entity provides what people need they will be less likely to seek help from God or other supernatural entities” – in other words, the more government, the less God.

Author and Christian Apologist Alex McFarland told the “Today’s Issues” show on American Family Radio it’s really the other way around: the family has failed and government has stepped in.

“The government becomes like a babysitter,” he says, “when we don’t have the moral foundation on which society sits – the family and the church.”
